SGI supporter, advocate and great landowner, Michael Howard, received assistance from SGI/Quail Forever (QF)  Coordionating Wildlife Biologist, Brittney Viers, QF/NRCS Farm Bill Biologists, Alex Tamboli and Collin Stanley.

Mr. Howard is a participant of a special grasslands focused Farm Bill grant that is beinhg used to restore nearly 40 acres of prairie that was once part of the loess Plain Prairie system of Western Tennessee. This burn was conducted for site preparation to further enhance the native species that are still hanging on and bring back those that have been lost. Prior to Mr. Howard's ownership, the partner biologists were honored and greatful for the opportunity to assist Mr. Howard and his family.

Viers said, "One of the most memoriable moments of the day was during the briefing before we began the burn. The bios were asked to explain to the whole family (children included) why fire is so importand for grasslands and wildlife management. Then they all got to see it in action. "

"Y'all took the fear out of  this for me. I'm a believer in this and I'm committed to doing the right thing!"SGI and QF are very thankful for the hardworking and dedicated private landowners who are carrying out our missions.

We are very proud of our partners and all of the work they do. They not only commit themselves to helping our landowners they are true educators!
