District boards were set up to creat a mechanism for the federal government to work with private landowners. Districts focus largely on educating and partnering with private landowners, farmers to promote erosion control techniques.Each district is led by the local board of supervisors and three are elected. District Secretaries are put in place to promote and help the board with these tasks.
